Will MTV Air DJ AM's Intervention-Based Show?

Sad news hit the music industry on Friday when Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York City apartment.

AM was known for his highly publicized relationships with Mandy Moore and Nicole Richie, and for surviving a plane crash last year along with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. He was also the mix master for many elite Hollywood and Vegas nightclubs.

According to reports, police were called to AM’s apartment and found the DJ shirtless and in sweatpants surrounded by pills and a crack pipe. AM had before said that he used crack, but had been sober for a number of years. In fact, Goldstein had just finished filming a reality television show for MTV in which he helped people kick their drug habits.

The fate of the show is in the hands of the network. Coincidentally, MTV’s sister network, VH1, is having its own reality show issues with Ryan Jenkins, who allegedly murdered his girlfriend before fleeing to Canada and then committing suicide.

VH1 has pulled future airings of Jenkins’ shows, Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3. Will MTV do the same with DJ AM’s intervention-based program? 74% of the Predicto Mobile community says yes.

“I think it would be a good tribute to him if they did,” says member “vallynandmatt.”

“He died from drug overdose … it wouldn’t be right,” says “outr5667.”

“I think it’s real sad that DJ AM passed by a drug overdose. It’s like more and more people are passing by overdoses,” says “yyns3394.”

“With the drugs found in his home, I doubt they will air the show,” says “ekrn6989.”
