The FDA and GlaxoSmithKline have warned Consumers to be aware of fake and “potentially harmful” versions of the weight loss drug Alli that are being sold on the Internet through auction websites such as eBay.
The counterfeit versions of Alli look very similar to the original, but these fake pills are not filled with orlistat – the main ingredient in the official weight loss drugs Alli and Xenical. Instead, they are packed with sibutramine.
Sibutramine can be found in the prescription weight loss drug Meridia and may have a powerful affect on the chemical signals in the brain. Due to this, patients need a doctor’s prescription in order to take Meridia and the drug should not be used by certain people.
In addition, Alli is taken three times during the day while Meridia is only taken once.
The counterfeit Alli has only been found in 60 milligram, 120-count refill packs. The real drug’s manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, believes that the fake drugs are only being sold on the internet.
In order to identify the fake drugs, GlaxoSmithKiline gives these guidelines:
The LOT code information will be missing from the top of the box
The expiration date will include month, day, and year (ie. 20012010). The authentic Alli expiration date includes only the month and year (ie. 01/10)
The seal on the bottle should read “SEALED FOR YOUR PROTECTION” in white ink. This statement is not present on the fake product.
The capsule size is slightly larger in the fake pills and the contents of the capsules are different – the fake content is powdery while the real product is more of a pellet shape.
If you have any questions or concerns, visit GlaxoSmithKline’s myalli.com to see pictures of the real and fake product. If you think you have purchased the fake Alli, the FDA would like to hear from you calling 800-551-3989

It’s interesting that in the many books that are written, my own writing, hyperbolic poems/songs…..– the use of these words:
1. All
2. Never
3. Everything
4. Forever
5. Not Ever
And whatever other words that fall in the area of 100%-ism. That’s Perfectionism Theology- if we miss the mark of “Contingencies”– many of God’s promises to be fulfilled have Contingencies. Not Work to be Righteous before God.
Just Contingencies- that get right at our heart– the root of our true colors– our faith in Jesus Christ.
You see– as long as we are fallen and before we get the “twinkling of an eye” experience (Corinthians- when this mortal shall put on immortality) we can be tripped-up by imperfect thinking, emotions, choices/will, “spiritual discernment”, and strong desires/lusts. Also, we live in an imperfect world, government, or city/town. We participate in imperfect organizations, groups, friendships, relationships, and marriages. God has held all of creation under judgment of imperfect. When He speaks of the believer as a “New Creation” there’s a judicial perfection found in Jesus imputed/given by Grace righteousness/perfections in our Heavenly standing before God. But, this “New Creation” or these “New Creatures” born from above need to “grow” in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The word “grow” or term “growing up in all things in Christ” alludes to the fact– we’re not perfect and we need to grow. The warning by Paul about our most intimate relationships or marriages- regarding to us volitionally surrounding ourselves with bad influences and a marriage partner who has nothing to do with the teaching of Christ and the Apostles– well, Paul begs one to ask—”How will me entering this relationship/partnership help me to grow in Christ at all? So- there we have by Apostolic teaching the lesson– bad company corrupts the morals (Now some take this way to far and so in Jesus prayer in John 14 He prays not that God takes us out of the world completely and Paul teaches that if we start down the path of judging those outside of our belief in Christ that we’d basically have to leave this planet all together. Isolation is not a Biblical teaching nor is falling head-long into the trough of disobedience/dissipation.
So, why do I or authors of Christian books use words that seem to allude to perfectionism? The Perfect Christian here and now? Well, partly it could be bad syntax, the fact we loosely use the terms, the fact that some desire such a great impact from their teaching that it must end with 100%-ism or it wouldn’t be “important” or a “secret key”. In 1st John there’s a verse that has tripped up many souls and if we take it outside of the original Greek, just accept it as an isolated verse apart from the balance that all scripture gives- it says in many translations- the one who knows God will not sin. Peter says, the one who suffers has ceased from sinning. The Proverbs even “play this trick of the mind” in saying that if someone raises a child up in the way he/she should go they will never depart from it. Is it true that several very famous Rock Stars came from a Christian background, were “Pastor’s” kids, and so on? Hmmm- they departed. I’ve seen parents grieve over this verse and others who have “good kids” (Man looks at the outward appearance- God looks at the heart) kinda judge those with the “bad kids.” Now, I’m not writing that to cause trouble. Point and case—even after 1 John talks about sin in the face of Gnosticism that wasn’t concerned at all with “sin” as it was “knowledge” - John- wanting to emphasize sin and that it’s a contradiction to say one is walking in the light while sinning- still says, “But, if we do sin we have an advocate with the Father.” Paul– the aged Paul professes towards the end of his life that he had not yet obtained perfection. I believe it’s in the book “True Spirituality” by Francis Schaeffer (Him and C.S. Lewis were the people/the writings that God used to bring Dr. Larry Crabb closer to Christ without throwing out his brain- you know- the false “leap of faith” theology.) Francis likes to use the word “substantial change”– the Christian is substantially changed and we substantially grow if we have “authentic Christian faith.”
Also, the Word “saved” is used in the Greek in present continuous- meaning we are saved then when we first believe (When the Faith of the Son of God entered us to have His faith to believe on Him- don’t you just love how it’s all about God??? He ultimately gets the glory from A-Z.), now, and all the way to the end (Contingency in Hebrews- “If you continue in faith.”)
Many people when reading don’t understand that there’s judicial language used in God’s redemptive purposes for man and there’s what we call “practical righteousness” or “sanctification” language— meaning, Practicually Via. Our Judicial Standing-”We are working out our salvation…” We are “being transformed by the renewing of our minds” as we “submit” and “Yield” to the Holy Spirit. I like the verse that records in the Gospels one man saying, “Lord I believe, help me with my unbelief.” This man realized that he was weak and tottering. Yet, Paul says about the weak basically– don’t judge them for don’t you know that the Lord is able to make them stand. (Interesting fact– those who are caught up with days, food, and drink as being of great spiritual significance that they either “must participate” or “not” are considered by the Apostle Paul as spiritually weak- as their faith is weak. Here for the last many decades the one who drinks this or that has been considered immature/weak. That’s backwards to what Paul is saying regarding faith here. But regarding sin– too much is dissipation.)
I loved the departed Stan Firth, at a late age in his life he stumbled across the Roman’s 6, 7, and 8 teachings and made it his “life work” so to speak to preach those chapters from his heart for emancipation from a life of complacency, backsliding, defeat, and joylessness. Whether I would have chosen his path or not is not for me to talk about as God has set a different race before each of us– and as James says– we all stumble in many ways after warning that not all become “teachers.” Stan used to say, again, and again, and again,–”The old nature has not been eradicated.” and “Where sin abounds (like gravity keeping a jet to the ground as a principle/law) Grace does much more abound (like a Jet pulling away from the gravity into the air–with much, much more force than Gravity itself). He stayed away from 100%-ism in terms of practical living (not judicial) and realized that us tugging ourselves back to Christ and Him tugging us to Himself back and forth until we get to heaven was an ongoing thing.
So, what is “keeping in step with the Spirit” by “The Faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.”? Well– when we are in step with the Spirit and it’s Him co-laboring with us or as it says at the end of one gospel- “Jesus was working with them“— well, I wonder to what degree that’s Perfect. It’s at very least substantially perfect when we are “in step” with God’s Spirit. And, “if we complete a task or enter into another level of “Intimacy With Christ” I suppose on that point– complete means complete. But, like Manna that had to be gathered every day since it rotted the next, or a rainbow that fades, or with our forgetful memories– there needs be a pattern of repeat in learning ”Intimacy With Christ”. Like clay- sometimes Jesus the Potter gets a patch of clay “dead-on” and them it falls off due to lack of moisture (The Watering of the Holy Spirit) and then it must be “put back on again.” That to me is the normal Christian life– as long as it has as it’s Motto– To know the True God and Jesus Christ Whom He as Sent- we’re on the right track and in safe hands. Now, as with all Motto’s people fluctuate in their pursuit of that Motto– but, we can be substantial in keeping on track if we keep in step with the Spirit and You know the Spirit is ultimately as a co-worker the Author of the OT and NT.
Father God, sometimes Your children (me too) use terms that are 100%-ism whether it’s because we’ve heard them so many times, or someone has passed along a teaching as a “secret key” to all perfection, or we or others long for a deep sense of being loved and respected and so turn our “insight” into the “ultimate cure”- the 100%-ism. Lord, help us to accept ourselves in Your beloved as a “New Creation”- but, not a perfect one. As “His Workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works”- but, workmanship meaning that the Potter or the Great Wood-worker is still making us into something beautiful as Workmanship in the Greek is where we get the word Poema (our lives have a rhyme and reason)- Father, Jesus is our Potter, Wood-worker, and Poem Writer of our lives by Your Spirit and Word. Father, help us to seek to humbly keep in step with Your Spirit- knowing that as we continue in Your light that like in 1 John it says, “and the blood of His Son- Jesus Christ- cleanses us from all unrighteousness” – and I’ve heard cleanses is present-continuous too– what a glorious God You are Father and a glorious Salvation You have given to us. It’s precious. It’s the most precious thing we have. It’s delicately precious. So, we work it out as Paul says, with “fear and trembling.” Father, if I were carrying a “priceless” crystal/delicate unicorn across the field to get it to a museum I would have “fear and trembling” to get it there in the same manner in which we are to Respect You and Your Saving of Us- precious just like that. Father, bring many people into Jesus Kingdom, Saving, and Power to stand. I pray in His Name- AMEN.
I’m not sure if I should be blogging about this. I just hope my friend wont get mad.
My friends always asks for advice on things tat she gets up to. Most of the time i dont know what to say, tell her what to do, becasue I’ve never done any of the stuff that she does. But I still help her, even if it ends badly. You may ask why now I start to blogg abot this but the reason the help she needed today scared me aswell as her.
She told me that she hangs out with people who are way older than her and they take illegal drugs. She said she told someone about this as was scared about what they might do to her. Truthfully if they were true friends they wouldn’t hurt her but she says she still wants to be friends with them, she doesnt know why. I started feeling really scared for her, I told her not to hang out with them but she says she still wants to be friends with them. Heres my advice to people in the same trouble:
-Your true friends should be people you can have fun with and not worry about what they think. They are kind to you and wont threaten you about ANYTHING.
- If you’ve been threatened by a friend (about them killing you or bashing you) you should stop hanging out with. Throw away their numbers, email and lose complete contact with them.
- If they do fun, wild things and you enjoy the thrill of it and thats why you want to be friends with them choose something else that gives you that amount fo excitement. e.g. play grand theft auto (great as you can kill virtual people, my pick) or you can watch horror movies or thrillers (speed or die hard movies are good heat beaters)
-I’m not saying you shouldn’t be friends with people that are crazy and fun but if they start to threaten you and you get scared take my advice,
Please be careful and look after yourself.
A simple compliment means much more when you mean it
There’s much that can be said about chocolate. As a candy it remains extremely popular. In baking its heartiness is unequaled. It has many beneficial not only physiological, but psychological as well.
Basics:
Chocolate comes from the seeds of the fruit / seed pods that grow on the tree Theobroma Cacao. This tree is very sensitive to climate and can only be grown in a narrow belt that is close to the equator. Cacao was originally found only in the Americas, but is now grown in various countries near the equator where the climate can support it.
Cocoa fat: Cacao seeds are a good source of fat. This fat gives chocolate its distinctive texture and smoothness. One of the most important properties of chocolate, the melting point, is due to the unique chemical makeup of cocoa fat. Chocolate is so pleasurable to eat because when placed in the mouth as a solid it quickly melts into a smooth, savory, sweet, thick liquid. This happens because the melting point of cocoa fat is around 95 degrees, slightly lower than human body temperature.
Physiological benefits of consumption:
Cocoa (uncooked cocoa solids, not candy chocolate that contains sugar and has been cooked) contains all sorts of antioxidants and flavonoids which are good for your body and brain. Some of the flavonoids found in chocolate have been shown to increase vasodilation, promoting increased blood flow and lowering blood pressure by increasing levels of circulating nitric oxide. It is for this reason that chocolate has been praised as being an aphrodisiac. Increased circulation means the blood can flow faster, allowing you to get into the game much quicker than normal
Heavy consumers of raw cocoa have been shown to have lower rates of heart disease and cancer. The antioxidants found in cocoa may have some beneficial, direct effects on the brain, improving learning and memory.
Some fun krazy kemicals found in chocolate
Theophylline:
Theophylline is a xanthine, like caffeine, which has strong stimulant effects. Theophylline increases heart rate and blood pressure.
Theobromine:
Theobromine is also a xanthine that has effects on the CNS. It is mainly a stimulant that causes increased heart rate with vasodilation. Theobromine also has a strangely powerful antitussive effect, so next time you’re sick with a cough whip out the cocoa powder and brew some strong hot chocolate. Theobromine cannot be processed by many animals, which is why it is bad for your pet dog or horse to eat chocolate. Also note that like caffeine, theobromine is addictive and can produce withdrawal symptoms, so don’t eat too much chocolate too often!
Note the similarities between caffeine and theobromine, and to a lesser extent theophylline
Phenethylamine:
PEA is a very interesting molecule. It is a psychoactive stimulant as well as a naturally occurring neurotransmitter. The phenethylamine skeleton can be substituted in a variety of ways to make some very interesting psychoactive drugs, some of which occur naturally. Please see below for more on this.
PEA works by releasing norepinephrine and dopamine, causing a energized-feel-good sensation.
Here are a bunch of natural and synthetic neurotransmitters and drugs based off the phenethylamine skeleton (click to view full list)
I wasn’t ever going to do anything anyway. Sex outside of marriage, drugs, underage drinking; my parents always assumed that I wouldn’t do these things. The more that I read about sex education, drugs, drinking, reckless driving and all of the other risky behaviors that are supposed to mark my age group, the more that I realize that I was never cursed with low expectations.
Teenagers are going to have sex anyway, give them condoms and “knowledge”.
Teenagers are going to drink anyway, make the drinking age lower and serve them alcohol in your home so they don’t go out and drink.
Teenagers are going to do drugs anyway, make them legal and get the tax revenue.
Teenagers will act like self-destructive idiots anyway, so let them. Expect them to do so, and make it easier if possible. When did society decide that it hated us so much that it would write us off as a collective lost cause? I can’t quite identify the true nature or origin of these beliefs. Here on Xanga, it seems to be people who are only a little older than me who are most vehement in their condemnation. I can’t help but think they were having sex in a car at 16 while driving drunk and smoking marijuana. All at the same time. Because of this, and in order to justify their behavior, they wish to believe that all other teens do the same.
I am no different. Look, they are all idiots too. Teen girls are all sluts. After all, I was one, and I was normal.
Dum excusare credis, accusas.
Your low expectations are destroying us. Be it Generation Y or Z, we are capable of so much more than you believe. You need only ask, yet you choose to dismiss.
Before I say anything else, I want to thank you all for your wonderful comments yesterday. You made me feel so good about my decision, and I just cant thank you enough.
I meant to do a post a lot earlier, but Ive been very distracted researching schools. Im pretty certain Im going to go with the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. If any of my fellow Canadians know anything about this school, your input would be SO appreciated!
My parents are excited about my plans to get an education. My mom told my dad about it right away, and she was saying to me that he thinks I would excel at something like this. What a confidence boost! They have also offered to help me as far as funding goes. I cant even explain how much of a relief that is. I am broke as it is. I have a little bit of a savings, but even that is kind of sad. The only reason I have anything at all is because when I left the bank, I still had something ridiculous like 15 vacation days they had to pay me for. I saved almost all of it with every intention of using it to get my real estate license. But that just wasnt what I wanted to do, so I never did it.
The thing with taking a nutrition course, is even if I wouldnt use it for a career, I find it all very interesting. I spend my days at work looking up health benefits of different foods. I find it fascinating.
I had a fantastic run last night. We were pretty dead at work, so my boss sent me home 20 minutes early, which meant I got do run in daylight. How wonderful is that? It was daylight for the first half, and sunset for the rest. I love running during the sunset. Theres something really amazing that happens to the mountains, during sunset. Its like theyre under a spotlight. I wish I had a picture. It was amazing.
Then – 45 minutes, 7 kms and 4 hills later, when I was ready to die coming up my last hill and rounding the corner to my house, I look at the sky, and it looks just like this.
Ok – so maybe “The Simpsons” wasnt written across the sky, but the clouds looked exactly the same. The sky was the same kind of blue, it was so cool. The Simpsons theme song started playing in my head, and it made those last couple minutes 100 times easier!
Since I had a boyfriend free night last night, I decided to be SUPER cool and play Super Mario on my Wii all night. Now, maybe its just me, but sometimes (ok almost always) when Im playing this game I think the people who came up with it must have been on acid.
Now – Im no expert when it comes to drugs, I was always too afraid of what would happen to me, so maybe thinking they were on acid isnt fair. Could have been opium.
It IS fun though!
Now, on to this morning.
I keep seeing egg whites in oatmeal on blogs these days, so I decided to try it out this morning. I should NOT be eating eggs, I was highly allergic as a kid. I can eat them on occasion these days, but if I overdo it I will get a migraine.
I also cooked the oats with some chia seeds, and of course cheese.
The egg white made such a big difference. These were the best oats I have ever had in my life.
After that Lexie and I had a fantastic 6.5 km run in the SUNSHINE! Thats right, I said sunshine. I had forgotten what that was like.
Lunch was kind of boring – I stuffed a tortilla with some avocado and goat cheese, and ate that with a green monster.
I had to have something I could eat right away because I had a date with the grocery store.
While there I picked up this:
Its wonderful! Im super excited to add it to my oatmeal tomorrow morning.
For dinner I made kung pao chicken.
I wont lie – the only reason I made kung pao chicken was because it went with the wine I wanted.
The wine was fantastic btw!
Speaking of wine, Im at my parents house right now, and my mom has fed me a little too much wine, so I should go while Im (hopefully) still making some sense.
But as promised – heres a picture of my crazy wet dog after our run on Thursday night.Ignore the scary eyes, without the flash she looks blurry.
She sat still for the 2 seconds required to take that picture, and then she want absolutely nuts.
